On 26th Feb., 1994 in Lucknow city Gopal s/o Sadgurusharan Mishr was murdered by land mafia and obliging police had shown it to be a case of encounter with police. His father, old in age but of indomitable spirit, succeeded in getting case crime number 654 u/s 302 I. P. C. registered at P. S. Aliganj. However, the powerful accused persons (one of whom became Dy. Mayor of Lucknow), got the investigation transferred 4 times from district police, to C.I.S., to C. I. D. and back and forth. Ultimately, the father obtained High Court order for investigation by C. I. D., which submitted charge sheet in the year 2008 against 6 accused persons including police inspector. The trial started in 2009 and even till today all prosecution witnesses have not been examined.

I have been a witness to this horrendous delay in delivery of justice despite my all out efforts to help the brave father, who has made the sole aim of his life to ensure justice to his deceased son’s soul.
