Nature's rule of checks and balances

  1. Till now humans were thinking that they are the best and they can control and regulate everything. There were random claims by them that they do this to make earth a better place to live, however in reality, humans never stopped earth exploitation.

  2. Steps to restore nature, by humans, were like putting water in corroded vessels where leakage spilled everywhere without results. I am saying this because corruption, lack of interest, continuous use of resources, bursting population, lack of Will on the part of humans is always absent. Observing this the mother earth has taken charge of everything, like at our home when things go out of control mother takes charge to set things right.

  3. I read dinosaurs got extinct from earth. I Was wondering, what may be the reason? The reason was simple, they did not have any respect for mother earth including other living beings and plants. The conduct was bad and the size was too big to handle. At this stage the mother earth took charge and set things right, leading to dinosaurs’ extinction. Human evolution is also linked to such stories which are being traced till date. Even Darwin was in favour of “Survival of the Fittest”.

  4. In 1820 influenza virus caused loss of many lives, in 1920 Spanish flu claimed 50 million lives, NIPAH in 1999, Marburg Virus , Hantavirus virus in 1993, Zika virus in 1952 onwards, Dengue virus since 1970 onwards, Ebola virus in 1976, Smallpox in 1979, SARS in 2003, Corona virus in 1931 with its extension as Covid-19 of 2019 ? Ever thought why? Answers need not be guessed, it is obvious!

  5. We are worried about productions being less, employment less, work output less, economy in bad shape, but have we ever looked at the larger picture, did we ever worry about our mother earth or did our scientists act responsibly? The answer is emphatically “NO”, and why the answer is “NO”, have we ever tried to look for the reason behind it.

  6. I, being a science student of yesteryears, tried to delve into studies of bacteria and viruses. The most obvious answer I got was bacterial diseases were treatable but for viral diseases treatment is scarce. In respect of viral diseases science works by the scheme of oppression and suppression rather than permanent cure. Dengue fever is the most common where no confirmed treatment is available except the platelets transfusion . Each year we lose many lives to one or the other virus outbreaks, but we still are not acting responsibly. Possibility is that we as humans tend to forget things very easily and then with lesser patients coming for treatment , the research also slows, waiting for another outbreak.

  7. We live only with one motto “I, Me and Myself”, “Thy-enjoyment”, “Thy-Travel”, “Thy-desires” and many such mottos, which revolve only around the selfishness of humans. Humans never think beyond themselves, their life is profit and loss only. They think of buying everything with money and then cage this money, fellow humans and animals, to show their strength without even thinking that they have some duties for mother earth.

  8. .CORONA pandemic, Influenza-Spanish flu, Ebola Virus, Swine flu, dengue….why all such viruses are each time cropping and troubling only mankind, why not animals and other living beings. The answer is obvious, punishment is to be given to the main culprit by the hands of mother nature.

  9. I read Ozone Layer Hole over the Arctic has healed, how and why? Clearly this has some relation to less pollution, less exploitation and less usage by caged humankind. I am using the word caged responsibly, because animals, birds and fishes have got their much desired freedom, they got their rights restored by the hands of mother earth, which obviously was never honoured by the humans. In the eyes of the lord each living being has equal freedom to enjoy and have the fruits of mother earth, but we humans fail to acknowledge these undisputed facts. We know only exploitation and nothing else, therefore the mother nature thought why not cage this human for his Sins of the past. I do not mean that every human is a sinner but as you know one bad fish can spoil the pond and we know, in this case, most of the fishes are bad, the same applies to humankind.

  10. No matter what the humans say, that they have conquered science, reached the moon and understand nature but all these are false statements.

Our universe is always evolving, it is made up of “Matter”, here matter means, all elements, particles including humans, which are always evolving; no-one can claim victory over the other because elementary matters will keep playing hide and seek, thereby evolving.

  11. Conquer and conquest are myths. Each time we will reach certain heights, only to know that much is left, to be achieved. Scientists should know by this time that they need to act responsibly and should not play with nature because, if it knows to give, it also knows to punish, in the form of diseases like Corona, Ebola etc.

  12. Governments spend crores of rupees/ dollars to clean rivers, reduce pollution etc. but the results are always disappointing. I remember in Delhi, DTC buses were converted to CNG, momentary the pollution came down, then came CNG cars , but again the pollution attained new heights. Our Supreme Court took steps to ban diesel vehicles and for some time even banned bigger diesel vehicles, again respectfully speaking, the results were never as expected because the target vehicles had to be smaller diesel vehicles alongside the bigger ones. Similarly the rivers Ganga and Yamuna were cleaned many times but results as expected were disappointing.

  13. Lockdown under the threat of death changed everything. Rivers clean, Sky blue, Pollution down, animals roaming in their comfort zone, birds chirping like morning alarms and many other happy moments for the entire earth, except the cribbing humans. Technology use at its best, schools online, courts online, passes online and many more. Think; did we benefit or not. To me the benefit is surely there, Corona like viruses will come and go but the after effect of clean atmosphere and water will always be there, mother nature has taught us and shown the path where we went wrong and what can be done to take the correct route.

It is time we give back to earth its due respect.

Exploitation has to be stopped at all costs. Spitting and urinating openly has to stop. Flow of dirty water through industries, municipalities and other activities directly in the Rivers need to be completely stopped for healthy water for humans, fishes and other living beings including plants. Strict steps to curb pollution need to be taken. Promotion of e-functioning should be made the norm for example: offices, courts, schools should compulsorily work for a few days online in future to give some relaxation and restoration time to mother nature.

  14. Life imposes things on you that you can’t control, but you still have the choice of how you’re going to live through this. God is kind, when He gives problems He also gives solutions. Benefit is not only for animals and fishes but to humans also, just remember when did you yourself paved way to make your body healthy, during this lifelong never ending marathon run we had each day for a long period of time , do you remember when was the last time you took a break from back breaking regime, I am sure it was only during school days and not thereafter. Think we are on block leaves, think we have school vacations, think we are on provisional leaves granted by god, then enjoy.

  15. You must have heard the story of God asking some human beings to build a boat and ride it with some animals to save the world. Think for yourself what message god has sent this time. Clearly God has informed humans “health is wealth”. Stop worrying what will happen in the future, live today, enjoy today, and thank God that you are alive, do not wander in streams that you cannot conquer. Lord Krishna in Geeta has clearly stated that running away from a powerful enemy is not cowardliness but a chance to make a big army and healthy body to conquer him in future. Think we all are in the Gods boat, wait for the time, let this earth apply its rule of check and balances and then we all will sail freely once again to win this world.

  16. It is time we all stay ONE with one Moto, stay fit, stay healthy, with one thing in mind we will keep our surroundings clean and clear, will not litter everywhere, will take all steps to reduce pollution and will take steps that mother earth love us and not punish. Remember what we sow , same we reap.

  17. This period of lockdown will leave memories and teachings. Memories will fade away but in the end will remain teachings and experiences. It is time we think deep for the interest of our children, future and this world.

  18. Let’s behave responsibly beyond profit and losses of life, make the most of what we have. Remember “Survival of fittest” is the norm, we have warning from mother earth. If we do not understand now then nothing can stop the extinction of mankind.

This one month hiatus, this lockdown has given our earth the chance to heal itself. In just over one month, mountains can be seen from over 200 kms, from Saharanpur or Jalandhar. Rivers have healed themselves as can be seen in Ganga at Haridwar or Yamuna in Delhi. Little birds are back on the trees, chirping their way to happiness and peacock dances are a common sight now. I was never a believer in the “Earth hours”, switching off electricity for 1 hour to preserve earth and always thought it was a sham. However, what is happening around makes us all believe that if we give 1 week to the nature every year by shutting down everything, the earth will heal itself and be sustainable for generations to come.

I am thankful to my friends Kapil Bamba, Dr. Manish Kansal who spared time to help me finalise with their inputs and wonderful thoughts.
