When Mommy had her First Bruise

When Mommy was a little kid - Stories I will tell my kids

When Mommy was a little kid, she loved to jump in puddles. The month of May is usually hot in India, but one day, it rained. The weather was so pleasant. Mommy was playing in her room.

Great grandfather suggested that we should all go upstairs and have tea and pakoras while enjoying the weather. Mommy was busy playing with her favourite toy car.

Grandma said, “Come on! It's such a good weather."

I said “No, Mom. I don't want to go."

Grandpa said “Don't you love to jump in puddles? The weather is pleasant and you may get to see arainbow.”

I said “Well, yeah, I love to jump in puddles, and I also want to see a rainbow.”

I rushed to climb the stairs.

Everybody else was having tea and pakoras. Grandma and Grandpa were enjoying the scenery. Mommy was playing hopscotch. Great grandfather was drinking his tea. Everyone was eating pakoras and enjoying the weather. Grandpa was measuring the roof and planning to put plants there.

It was slippery and Mommy was running when she slipped and bruised her knee.

Mommy cried “Let's go downstairs, oh, let’s go downstairs. It hurts.” Grandma took Mommy downstairs then she took ointment and cleaned the bruise. She then put a bandage on her knee.

It was time to drink milk and eat cookies. I was still crying “Ouch, ouch it hurts.”, but Grandma taught her to be strong and after that she learned to be tough.

Moral: Be strong, inside and outside.
