Fascinating World of Indian Dance

Two friends were talking about different types of Dances across India. Both of them live in Kolkata. Ram Sanyal had come to meet Deep Dasgupta. Ram Sanyal lives in Gariahat while Deep Dasgupta lives in Shyambazar. Ram had come to meet Deep after six months. They work in multinational companies based in Kolkata. Now they are working from home due to the present corona virus situation.

Ram asked:”Do you know the region of Bhangra dance?”

Deep replied, “ It is a dance form of Haryana and Punjab. Do you know about Bidesia dance?”

Ram replied, “Yes! It is a dance form of Bihar. Have you heard about bihu dance?”

Deep said, “It is a great dance form of Assam. Do you have any idea of chakri?”

Ram said, “It is a dance form from jammu and Kashmir. Have you heard about Chamar Gindad?”

Deep said, “It is a dance form of Rajasthan. Do you know about Chau?”

Ram replied, “ it is a dance form of purulia, West Bengal. Have you seen bamboo dance?”

Deep replied, “Yes! It is a dance named Chiraw which is practiced by people of Mizoram.”

Ram asked, “ Do you know about any dance form of Orissa?”

Deep replied, “It is Danda Nata. Have you seen dasa attam?”

Ram said, “Yes, Dasa Attam is a dance form of Kerala.”

Deep asked, “Did you watch any show of Garba?”

Ram replied, “When I went to Gujarat, I saw Garba dance.”

Deep asked, “ Recently I was watching Gangore dance. Do you know which state it is associated?”

Ram said, “It is a dance form of Rajasthan.”

Deep inquired, “ Have you seen Jhumar dance?”

Ram replied, “ It is a dance of Rajasthan. Have you seen Kajjir?”

Deep said, “ When I went to uttar Pradesh, I saw that dance form in a fair.”

Ram asked, “ Have you seen Kayanga Bakayanga dance?”

Deep replied, “It is a dance of Himachal Pradesh. There is another dance form named Karyala, Lundi and Munzra dance. They also belong to Himachal.”

Ram raised a query, “Do you know about Kammi dance?”

Deep said, “ It is a dance form of Tamil Nadu. Therukkotthu is another dance form of Tamil Nadu. Let us have some tea and snacks, then we will talk further!”

Deep ordered, “Hari, bring some tea and snacks!”

Hari replied, “Yes, sir!”

Ram asked, “ Have you heard about Wangala Laho?”

Deep said, “It is a dance form of Meghalaya.”

Ram said, “Today, we had a great discussion on dance. When are you coming to my house?”

Deep replied, “ I will come to your house next Sunday. “

Ram asked, “What will be our topic of discussion?”

Deep replied, “We will talk about transport and communication!”

Ram exclaimed, “That will be a great idea!”
