Americas Ambiguous Taiwan Policy

(I’m an old man. I left blogging due to my age factor. I didn’t find any other suitable medium to remain engaged. Now -- I’m switching over to mini-blogging – less than 200 words -- to prove that I’m still alive. This is the beginning)

In 1949 Mao’s PLA (People’s Liberation Army) didn’t liberate Formosa (Taiwan). Since then, Taiwan has existed as a separate, independent, multi-party democratic country. It was never a part of mainland communist China, PRC (People's Republic of China). It was a part of ROC (Republic of China) and still remains so. That is a strong legitimate ground for getting world recognition as an independent state. One China policy shouldn’t include Taiwan.

The US and other democratic countries of the world committed a blunder by not conferring recognition to Taiwan.

Now, the US has adopted an ambiguous policy toward Taiwan. On the one hand the White House doesn’t want an independent Taiwan, on the other it gives material and moral support to Taiwan to fight against communist China for independence.
