Entrepreneur and socially responsible capitalist, Probal DasGupta is CEO of the Artilligence Group of Companies (www.artilligence.com) that operates three companies headquartered in the Greater New York area, with a global footprint extending across North America, Europe and Asia. Strategic vision, purpose and energy – that’s what Probal brings to the table, combined with over 25 years of extensive systems & software experience on an international scale, and over 14 years of senior management experience in the United States. De facto CIO of ArcelorMittal (then known as ISPAT) until 1994, he has many years’ experience in strategic planning, and tactical execution in companies both large and medium-sized, American and international. Having lived and worked in five different countries before settling down in the United States in 1991, his strategic perspective is truly global. He is particularly proficient in bridging the IT-Business divide, and in focusing business processes to be purely business focused. As an active member of the Object Management Group (OMG), he is involved in software standards activities, and is a proponent of OMG’s Model driven Architecture (MDA) that represents a paradigm shift in the way software can be engineered in the 21st century. He is also particularly proficient in enterprise business analysis, and organizational change management. Along with his professional career, he has continued his academic journey: he holds Masters Degrees in Computer Science and English Literature, and is currently mid-way through a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership.
