When Thieves Fall Out!
by Dr. Rajinder Puri Bookmark and Share

After the arrest of A. Raja now Kanimozhi has been charge-sheeted and Kalmadi hasbeen arrested for involvement in the 2G Spectrum scam and the Commonwealth Games scam respectively. This well might be the beginning of the end for the corrupt gang that looted the nation. Media attention has been focusing overwhelmingly on Raja and Kalmadi up till now. It would be naïve to assume that they were the sole culprits. Most likely they are minor fry behind which the big fish have been hiding. That is why the agencies dragged their feet for so long before taking action.

Kalmadi will have to explain the relevance of junior Indian High Commission protocol officer Raju Sebastian whose name he invoked to justify the issue of licenses for the Queen’s Baton Relay to the little known AM firms in London. With Kanimozhi’s imminent arrest the DMK will decide whether withdrawing ministers from the Union cabinet will suffice as a response. If the DMK loses the ongoing assembly polls will it want to continue toothless and at the mercy of the Congress in the central government? Or will it lift all curbs on Raja and make full exposure of the VIPs that participated in the national loot? The established mafia gangs of New York were demolished when they fought each other while the police watched. Ultimately the looters of India will be destroyed not only by the police or by the courts. They will destroy themselves as they fight each other tooth and nail.

So we must now sit back and listen to the sweet music that is likely to emanate as the canaries start to sing. One has great hopes of enjoying a musically rich May 2011.

Comment Would like to see that happening.

People talk big to get justice on relatively tiny incidents that impact hundreds or max. thousands of people.

But here the 'looters' (rightly choosen word) affect crors of lives in India and deserve equaly fitting punishment ! And this time we need permanent solution, upon destruction of gang of 'looters' another gang should not be allowed to fill in the place.
