For my parched eyes, the greenery everywhere was a pleasant surprise in the Anaikattai Resort. Apart from the exceptionally lush interiors, there is a view of the river Siruvani flowing rather solemnly at the backyard of the resort. I just wandered around the not so spacious resort and lazily sleeping in the room and enjoying the tasty a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner.

One afternoon I went for a Walk along the river to see the (Confluence) Sangam of Siruani and Bhavani at Kondapatti. It took about 30 minutes by jeep through the hilly bend route upto a point; but, after that one needs to walk by foot on the slightly rough path full of stones strewn in different shapes and sizes. The boy Amrit took me carefully upto the Confluence point which was another serene and visually beautiful location with cool breeze. The forest looked thick on the other side and facing was the imposing Nilgiris. Amazing view though the rivers were not in their full flow!

For me it was ‘a real escape’ from the dry and hot Chennai to a verdant green calm, quiet place with good food and helpful young staff!
