Global Recession is Almost Here
- 7 Things You Must Do Right Now!!!
by Alka Pandey Bookmark and Share

Because of an ongoing worldwide shutdown, the global recession looms large and many anticipate the worst economic fallout so far. Indian economy is also on the back foot due to nationwide lock-down and overall sluggishness. With the economic slowdown, US-China trade wars, and a frenzied surge of coronavirus cases in India, the year ‘2020’ has made sure that it is unrecoverable.

These are tough times for everyone, and companies are either laying off or in ‘hiring freeze’ mode. With huge operational costs, most of the companies have no other option other than downsizing. If you are wondering what you should be doing in such a crisis, here are 7 things you must do right now:

  1. Be Thankful for Work
Most of the fresh hires, interns, and new employees are unable to work right now. This is because of multiple reasons like infrastructure issues, company policies, etc. They are more anxious and worried than people who are working their asses off from home. They are living in constant fear of a layoff with no work in hand. Hence, if you have loads of work in the pipeline, Be Thankful. Not everyone is so privileged!

  2. Solution-Oriented
No one likes a cantankerous person who is always complaining about petty things and how bad the current situation is, instead be an optimistic person who is solution-oriented. Think about what best you can do in this crisis and put your heart into it. Do your best and leave the rest! Find solutions to problems and not problems for everything!

  3. Upskill Continuously
Use this time to continuously learn something new and grow as a person. Once you are out of this crisis, you will be proud of your achievements and come through as a better version of yourself.

  4. Patience
A lot has been going around in organizations worldwide including salary cuts, deferred promotions, delayed increments, etc. Stay put and let this time pass, do not complain yet. Have patience, you at least have a job!

  5. Health
This is a time to take care of yourself and avoid contracting this disease. Give utmost importance to your physical health along with your Psychological and mental health. Man is a social animal and doesn’t do well in confinement, make sure you don’t lose your head!

  6. Alternate sources of Income
Start thinking about multiple sources of income, use your skills to earn additional income other than your current salary. It is not wise to put all your eggs in one basket!

  7. Savings
Start saving as much as you can for a rainy day. Adversities come without warnings!

Be Hopeful! Hold on, This too Shall Pass...
