A very novel Physics theory doing the rounds in the scientific circle states that space-time matrix can store memory. Space-time matrix defines gravity and was the crowning achievement of Einstein’s theory of gravitation which proposed that heavy bodies bend space-time matrix and make the light bend near them. The theory was an improvement on Newton’s gravitational principles and clearly showed the exact mechanism by which bodies are attracted to each other.

Space-time matrix is not a continuous structure but is like a mesh with cells of exceedingly small dimensions; the size of Planck length (1.62 x 10-35 meter) and Planck time (5.39 X 10-44 seconds). The latest physics theory, called Quantum Memory Matrix (QMM), suggests that somehow these cells can store memory. It is similar to tiny water droplets being stored in a fine mesh! The water gets attached to the mesh because of surface tension. However, in this case each cell in the space-time mesh becomes storage for information or memory very much like that stored in computer chips. 

The storage takes place when the event of information or memory interacts with this matrix, though the exact mechanism on how it happens is unknown and debatable.  

A logical outcome of this theory is that since time immemorial all the memory of the Universe is already stored in the existing space-time matrix. If that is true then it is possible this matrix may also store human or other lifeforms memories and so whatever we do in our lives and whoever we are is a part of the space-time field surrounding us. Consequently, this storage could be the basis of Karma which is so much talked about in the Indian philosophical system.

More than twenty years ago I had conjectured that deep emotional memories could go into the Knowledge Space (KS).  At that time, I could not be more specific what KS was and where it existed but intuitively thought that it might be a part of the collective experience of planet earth and hence attached to the earth’s gravitational field.  This new theory may provide a framework on how it may be possible. 

I had also defined KS as a space which might contain information structures or memories which were very stable and hence could remain there for a very long time. These stable memories were an outcome of deep thought or deep emotions. The KS is similar to the modern cloud storage of information. However, cloud storage is connected to our devices via cables and processors. Whereas the KS may be tethered to our gravitational field. With new theory it may well be in space-time matrix. 

I had also visualized that KS might contain fundamental knowledge produced in the past and could be continuously fed by the ever-increasing knowledge from various civilizations as earth travels around the Milky Way Galaxy. It was conjectured that a prepared and focused human mind could access knowledge from this space which may have led to great discoveries of mankind.

The QMM theory also predicts that when the space-time matrix gets saturated with the information and cannot store anymore of it then it results in the creation of dark energy and bending of space-time fabric. This bending of matrix is equivalent to having a mass and thus may help in creation of matter.

With time this dark energy (which is about 70% of the total universe energy) gave rise to visible worlds and will continue to do so till this energy is ‘used up’ and then the reversal will start.  The QMM theory predicts 62 billion years for this reversal to happen.

This creation of world scenario matches very closely with the Sankhya philosophy which states that at the beginning of time there was nothing else but Universal Consciousness. When Purusha and Prakriti worked on it the worlds were produced. Universal Consciousness therefore could be the dark energy.     

It is also possible that the memory of form of any life could be stored in this matrix. Thus, any form (both living or dead) that has existed or will exist in this universe will have the signature of that form in the memory space. Furthermore, it can also be conjectured that with availability of matter these form templates may crystallize the life that we see today.

How is this memory accessed or erased from the Knowledge Space?

 Is it like the modern information retrieval system where the unique ID & password can access it. This is probably the way how the old karmas or sanskars that Patanjali talks in his Yoga Sutras can be erased so that the Kaivalya or moksha is obtained.
