When Mommy was a little kid - Stories I will tell my kids
When I was a little kid, I loved to jump in puddles. The month of May is usually hot in India, but one day, it rained. The weather was so pleasant. I was playing in my room.
Grandfather suggested that we should all go upstairs and have tea and pakoras while enjoying the weather. But I was busy playing with her favourite toy car.
Mom said, “Come on! It's such good weather."
I said “No, Mom. I don't want to go."
Dad said “Don't you love to jump in puddles? The weather is pleasant and you may get to see a rainbow.”
I said “Well, yeah, I love to jump in puddles, and I also want to see a rainbow.”
I rushed to climb the stairs.
Everybody else was having tea and pakoras. Mom and Dad were enjoying the scenery. I was playing hopscotch. Grandfather was drinking his tea. Everyone was eating pakoras and enjoying the weather. Dad was measuring the roof and planning to put plants there.
It was slippery and I was running when I slipped and bruised my knee.
I cried “Let's go downstairs, oh, let’s go downstairs. It hurts.” Mom took me downstairs then she took ointment and cleaned the bruise. She then put a bandage on my knee.
It was time to drink milk and eat cookies. I was still crying “Ouch, ouch it hurts.” but Mom taught me to be strong and after that I learned to be tough.
Moral: Be strong, inside and outside.
