It can come wherever you are, if its day or night,
And it doesn't matter if the room is dark or light.
Whether it's for something bad or for good,
There's your gut feeling working under the hood.
The thing that tells you to do it, no matter what,
The dilemma or trap in which you get caught.
What to do if you should do something or not?
Do you go with your mind or listen to your heart?
Quite a puzzling thought it is, and it often appears,
Takes us through the path of facing our greatest fears.
The dual-feeling travelling through your bones,
A mere thought when eating an ice-cream cone.
The intuition that pops up from within us,
It can come in a market, crowded train or bus.
Or a silent place in a very quiet town,
Under a tree, with green leaves and stems brown.
When it can come, we don't know indeed,
To do a cruel action or a very kind deed.
Helping an old lady take her grocery down the street,
Or stealing a toffee, which is a child's only treat.
What to do, how to do it, and what to say,
Sometimes being unfair is the game we choose to play.
A way of behaving or feeling that is not learned,
To do something we've always wanted and yearned.
An inborn impulse, feeling or motivation,
To act ourselves without any inspiration.
The feeling hidden behind the shelves,
The natural desire or tendency in ourselves.
Everyone's thoughts are unique and distinct,
But the feeling in everyone's hearts is called instinct.
Well composed. Nice thoughts. .. raghavan |
