Dr. T. Vasudeva Reddy

Dr. T. Vasudeva Reddy (b.Dec.1943), a retired Principal and formerly UGC National Fellow and Visiting Professor in English from Tirupati, A.P., is a renowned poet, novelist and critic in English. His poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies in India and abroad. He has authored ten collections of poems, two novels and three critical works -two on the novels of Jane Austen and the third one A Critical Survey of Indo-English Poetry (2016). He received awards of ‘The International Eminent Poet’ in 1987, Hon. D.Litt. from the WAAC (World Academy of Arts and Culture), San Francisco in 1988, Best Teacher Award (Univ.&College Level) from the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in 1990, Best poetry Award for his third book The Fleeting Bubbles from Michael Madhusudan Dutt Academy, Kolkata in 1994, the prestigious UGC Award of National Fellowship (as Visiting Prof.) in 1998 and the Award of ‘Excellence in World Poetry’ for the year 2009. His poems have appeared in French journals in Paris and in a recent anthology in Canada. Many critical articles and research dissertations have appeared on his poetry. He is now Hon. President of GIEWEC i.e. the Guild of Indian English Writers Editors and Critics.
