Dr. Dinakar Palakurthy teaches English at Kakatiya Government College (Autonomous), Hanumakonda of Telangana state. He has 27 years of experience in teaching English language and literature at various levels. He received Gold Medal in MA English and first rank in MPhil and did his Ph.D. in Translation Studies from Kakatiya University. He has P.G.D.T.E. from EFLU (English and Foreign Languages University), Hyderabad. He was the first ranker among the south Indian participants in Teacher Development programme conducted by Regional Institute of English, South India, Bangalore. He organzied National Seminar on NEP - 2020. He presented research papers in 13 International, 46 National Seminars and published 79 research articles in edited anthologies and scholarly journals. He translated more than 100 poems and 50 short stories from Telugu to English out of which several were published. His translated poetry was published in Central Sahitya Akademi’s Indian Literature, Telangana Sahitya Akademi’s ‘Parampara’ and Dept. Of Language and Culture, Telangana State’s ‘Green Garland’. His translated short stories were published in Central Sahitya Akademi’s ‘Beyond the Backyard,’ Telangana Sahitya Akademi’s ‘Asthitwa’ and Dept. Of Language and Culture, Telangana State’s ‘Telangana Harvest’ and also in journals like Kakatiya Journal of English Studies, Langlit, Godavari, Madhuravani and Mayukha. His other translated stories were published in ‘Essence of Life’ and ‘Intimacies’. His recent translation of P.V. Narasimha Rao’s novella ‘Mangayya’s Fortune’ attracted considerable critical acclaim from literary circles. He authored 16 books on English Language and Pedagogy and edited 06 books on Language and Literary criticism. He received Nation Builder Award - 2025 from Rotary Club International, Telangana State Meritorious Teacher Award (State Best Teacher) - 2022 and also received best teacher awards from the state government, teacher organization and NGOs. He received titles Anuvada Adithya and Rachana Paaranga from Sarvaardha Samkshema Samithi, Hyderabad.
