Dr. Neeta Nayak

,United States of America

Neeta Nayak grew up in Mysore, India. She was a severely asthmatic child and couldn’t run and play like most children.

From there to becoming a physician triple boarded in geriatrics, hospice and palliative medicine, she has come a long way.  She’s a 5 time awardee for Best Geriatrician by D Magazine.

As a middle schooler, she used to conjure up images of words in her mind, but started writing seriously over COVID to cope with the isolation from masking and social distancing.

She's an active member of the Poetry Society of Texas and recently won third prize in a statewide poetry contest and second prize at the Rusk county poetry society contest.

She has been published in PULSE magazine multiple times and written a movie review for the Journal of palliative medicine.

She was delighted when she shared in the “peoples choice award” at the prestigious 2025 art meets poetry exhibition in McKinney Texas .

She is working on publishing her first collection of poetry and tales from the geriatric chronicles in 2026.

She’s living her best dream of being a physician caring for the elderly, with a poetic soul and it is reflected in her instagram handle "White Coat Poetess"!
