Dr. Satyanarayana Dyavanapalli

Dr. Satyanarayana Dyavanapalli is a distinguished historian and the Curator of Tribal Museums, Government of Telangana. Specializing in the environmental history of the region, he has authored nearly twenty insightful works that explore Telangana’s history, culture, religion, arts and crafts, literature, tourism, and tribal life through rigorous primary research. His scholarship has brought renewed attention to several rock art sites, inscriptions, and heritage landscapes, both natural and built.

A respected academic contributor, he has written for undergraduate and postgraduate history curricula across Telangana’s universities and served as President (Ancient Section) of the Andhra Pradesh History Congress (2015–16). His contributions to travel writing and historical research have earned him multiple honours, including the ‘Excellence in Travel Writing’ awards (2013–2017) from the Tourism Departments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as well as the Keerti and Sahitya Puraskarams from Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. In 2025, he was conferred the prestigious B.N. Sastri Memorial Award for Best Historian, recognizing his enduring impact on the study of Telangana’s heritage.
