Nachom-ia Kumpasar (Let's Dance to the Rhythm)

This was a Konkani movie made in 2015. It is based on the lives of 2 jazz artistes, Chris Perry and Lorna Cordeiro who thrived in the 1960s-70s.

Chris Perry was a Goan composer, songwriter and film producer. Lorna Cordeiro was a Konkani singer known as the "Nightingale of Goa".

No wonder, this movie has got some really wonderful songs and though I didn't understand the language but the music was great.

There were English subtitles that helped me comprehend this film that I saw in January 2020.

It really impacted me as the story was narrated superbly and enacted wonderfully well by Vijay Maurya, Palomi Ghosh and their co-stars.

Kudos to Bardroy Barretto who directed it so well. It was simply superb.

Nachom-ia Kumpasar has won 24 international, 3 national and 10 state awards making it the most awarded Konkani film.

It was also shortlisted at the 2016 Oscars for Best Picture and Best Original Score.
