A Timeless Tale

Many stroll through the sands
Of my vast uninhibited shores
To enjoy the never ending waves

On One dreary evening
My attention centered around
a mother and her young son

The son desperately trying
to get up and toddle
despite his severe inadequacy

The mother constantly
promising him the world
and encouraging him to do it

Whenever he fell and cried
the mother looked towards me
and let a tear into the sea

Smiled at the boy
Encouraged him to wake up
and do it all over

For the first time
I the vast ocean felt small
before the the mother's spirit

Two hundred tries later
God gave in and as a miracle
the boy stood up and started to walk

The mother's glee knew no bounds
She stretched her hands
and awaited the warmth of his embrace

I was witness to this spectacle
And would be there to tell the tale
until the end of time
