Dr. Kailash Ahluwalia, known as Kailash Chander, is a bilingual poet, author, critic and a theatre personality; engaged in direction and acting. He has authored 18 books. A regular contributor to different magazines, his works have been published in various anthologies. He is Assistant Editor of Contemporary Vibes, Chandigarh and Setu, a literary magazine published from Shimla. A member of different literary and dramatic associations, he is President of ‘Abhinet’ theatre association; advisors to ‘Fylfot Forum’ (Theatre, Music and Art Association) and Abhinav Imroz, New Delhi. He received the Lifetime Achievement award from Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi and Fylfot Forum Solan, Himachal Pradesh. His two main books focused are: An Autobiography of a Pong Dam Oustee and Karyala, a folk theatre form of Himachal Pradesh.
