I am Valluripalli Shanti Prabodha. I studied journalism, but my professional focus is social service. Writing became a habit during my student days. I initially expressed my thoughts through poetry but later transitioned to prose.
In addition to poetry, I write in various genres, including short stories, novels, essays, epistolary literature, travelogues, children's literature, short fiction (galpika), and simple satakam (a form of poetry).
My novel Jogini, which highlights the centuries-old oppressive Jogini system, established me as a writer in Telugu literature and received numerous awards and accolades. Subsequently, I published the novels Batuku Sedyam and Amar Sahasa Yatra (a children's novel).
My short story collections include Gaddipuvvu Gunde Sanduka, Aalochana Lo.. Aame, Batuku Chettu, and Ala Jaragalede.
Other published works include Bhava Veechikalu (epistolary literature) and Camping (a picture storybook).
I have co-edited four books and designed one book. Thirty of my short stories and over thirty children's stories, two novels previously published in various media, will soon be compiled into book form. Five picture storybooks are currently in the printing process. |
