Theme: Satire

White Collar

Facing frequent music
In the amphitheater of the governments
Thick-skinned bellied babus
Regale themselves with entertainments.

Some of them like dancing
To the harsh tune of a strict taskmaster
While some stoop down
To a dereliction of duty so fast and faster.

Bosses have to face snubs
Though a powerful pillar as a scarecrow
Tethered in a cemented turf
Day & night's hard toil mopping their brow.

With white collar jobs
They do but executing it at a snail's pace
In a defunct work culture
Stinking badly now with blots of disgrace.

Comment The government work culture of the day very realistically depicted with lots of satire. Well written Bhaskarji and much liked this one. Thanks for sharing. Do read my poems "Contrition" - you may like it.
