Paradox

On the brink of emotions
Words fail me
Don’t know what to speak first
And what I shouldn’t

O my love, at last
When you were about to
Utter those three magic words
I didn’t know
How to receive it

Made it spill
My fractured burst of emotions
Instead of making you happy
My stupid emotions put you off

Yet, you tried your best
To ease the situation and
To overcome my excited outburst
The closeness made me wary

I am a paradox
I am an enigma
I am a misfit
I don’t know how to
Celebrate the love
You have expressed

But, you know me now
My heart and soul
My love and desire
If at all you come back to me
I am lucky

Or else I once again
Will languish in the
Silence of my own slip-up
Longing once again
For your love and proximity!
