Forgive

Forgive me now
if I was harsh

A thoughtless word
your voice not heard

Only me in sight
all hurry no time

But when pride melts
veils part

So sincere beyond belief
the human door

When forgiveness falls
inside a rain of tears

So why does it take
so long to see
the good that dwells
in you and me?

I've been a fool
I hardly guessed

That given time
the wounds would heal
our narrow hearts turn wide
