International Women's Day: March 8, 2004
Beacon of Hope

Ignorant, dim-witted world of men,
Dominating, hissing, jeering and perverse,
Rabid, fanatical and power-hungry,
Men have ravaged and ruled the universe.

For eons past, the darkness has surrounded,
Every scoundrel, malcontent, so egotistical,
With the unethical and the extreme bigots,
This world is ruled by despots and the radical.

Then comes woman with her wisdom,
A beacon of hope, a bright spot in the dark night,
Hope springs eternal at the sight of such grace,
The layers of ignorance peeled by the piercing light.

Great men prostrated in deference and respect,
To the woman, they made their obeisance.
At the sight of such dignity of womanhood,
They shivered and writhed, in her fecund abundance.
