Theme : Poetry for Children
A Circle of Wind
by Philip G. Bell

The wind blew through the trees
The trees were bending at the knees
The knees were knocking at my door
the dormouse scampered across the floor

The floor came up to meet my chin
The chin was there through too much gin
The gingerbread man came round to tea
The tea was where it ought to be

The Bee got honey from the flower
The flower opened at that hour
The hour bought on what was destined
The destined bought on howling wind

The wind blew through the trees
The trees were bending at the knees
The knees were knocking at my door
the dormouse scampered across the floor.
