Once Upon a Moonwalk
by Janine Daniel

Once upon a moon walk
a moonbeam shone on me
and for the first time in my life
I felt privileged to see
beyond my mortal restrictions
I gained spectroscopic sight
seeing insubstantial beings
floating around me
in ethereal moonlight

Their voices sung out sweetly
of luminary things
of suns and orbs and starlight
and angelic souls with wings
They told me of a young moon's birth
now cradled in an old one's arms
of how in the tellurian night sky
it will develop it's own illuminosity
and glow with the purest charm

With astral orbs of moonshine
they launch stars with tails of fire
to celebrate a lunar eclipse
and to nurture my desire
To sail the seas of ebony
with the legendary man of the moon
it's something I wished for upon a star
a long time ago in another life
when emerging from my mother's womb.
