near Netaji Subhas Airport in a household
preparations were on for an evening of devotional songs.
There descended a hoard of hoodlums.
They were molesting some assembled women.
An off-duty policeman trying to save his niece
from the disgrace of losing honour
was mercilessly beaten
by the putrid scar of society.
Subsequently, the policeman paid with his life.
What a shame!
Reportedly, the criminals enjoyed political patronage
and protection from keepers of law and order.
How low can law makers and keepers stoop!
It is high time they prove that
Rammohan, Vidyasagar, Ramkrishna,
Vivekanand, Tagore, Aurobindo, et al
are no fluke!
