The Time That Was Never Yours

  I fantasized about you
to make up for the lost time; -
little realizing,
time that flew past will never return.

It might return
only like a comet
after a long long time,
when your hair has greyed,
when your skin has wrinkled,
when your eyes have developed cataract,
when your stomach can't digest heavy food,
when your liver is sluggish, etc. etc.

God may be kind;
but lessons of life are rude.

The adolescent in you
never ages...
But lost oppotunity
is spilled milk.
However much you fantasize
that lost time will never be beside you again.

Dim your thoughts, baby.

Walk past, walk past;
as if that time has never been
