The Question of Life and Death

  Why don't you forget me?

Just forget me.

The legacy is getting unbearable.
Just because your people toyed with an idea
of matching the two of us
and got over it, for whatever reason,
I felt weak in my knees...
a decade later,
in an unhappy life, borne with strength
and forbearence.

But you have been taciturn,
smashing all my dreams.
With much fortitude
I could douse my mind,
thinking, whatever would not be,
should be put under wraps.
But your compulsion
does not allow severing the relation either.

You neither allow me to live,
nor do you permit me to die!
