Nature's Child

She dances away
With nature at her feet
A loner, to while away her hours
Negative thoughts to defeat
Dancing among the flowers
Thinks of magical things
Good things will happen ... a smile it brings
She's a lonely child, wishing her life away
For mommy and daddy, have gone astray
She wishes they'd come back someday
Till then ... she'll while away her hours
Dancing in the wind.

Such a beautiful poem, Maria. Such a tribute to way too many of today's children.
