The Last Day of Summer

last day of summer
the waterfall thunders into
my laughter

prayers for rain
a spider keeps
spinning its web

last day of summer
the wallah takes down
the raincoat array

midday rain
the luncheonette lamps
hanging in the sky

summer sunset
changing colour of
rising waves
