Buses, cabs and trains stop
Shops shuttered
Only Ambulance runs
And medicine stores open up the shutters
What does it resemble?
A sick land?
Police march
Police vans storm the streets
Is it a police state?

Against hike of petrol and diesel
Motor cycles rally,
Against price rise
People buy beforehand
To consume a holiday meal:
Are we so affluent?

Employees return home soon
To enjoy a nap
Some curse their fate
For an empty purse
Is it the end of redtapism and bribery?

A fight for common cause
Punches the labourer class
To homes
Thanx BPL rice to retaliate
loss of wages

Most parties celebrate
With roars to
Find Govt in ICU
Of the AIMS of democracy.

Sick and suffocated
I breathe tyre-burns
They say wait till next election
India will shine and smell
Run nonstop.
