Horizon of Time

On the shores of tranquility, when the sun was sinking in the horizon
Where the foamy saline water met the soaked sands
When the exhausted birds chirped to their retreat
And when the moon began to shine under the sun's lost might

I sat lonesome as my feet sketched patterns on the wet sand
As I reflected the same moments in my past
Which I shared with some others, Who's lives were a part of mine
Whose shadows faded as the bright sun set on their lives

Memories flooded through, as a tear ran down my flushed cheek
Wondered why I was left behind with none by by side
As the darkness grew, I realized that my shadow faded into the night
Wiped the lone tear off my face as I realized..

There is a bright new morn in the making, The shadow that I lost will be regained
And there will be many more that will appear that I would recognize
With whom I would revisit the same spot time and again
To watch the sun rise and set in the horizon of time
