In Search of Pearls

  What is this beating in my breast?
It cannot be my heart;
that bird has flown
in search of my goddess:
she who is the breath
that fills my soul.

Can I live without her?
No more and no less
than a diver in search of pearls
who, on one breath,
plunges into the abyss knowing that,
as long as he can see light above,
there is life and hope.
So it is for me, looking up towards the light
of Cathie's love.
