I, Me, Myself...

Allured by the luscious lucre’s call
I entered the buzzing banking hall!
For quite a while, I had a ball
Robbing Peter and paying Paul!
Then, I heard a higher call
And decided to chuck it all!

“To do what?” queried one and all,
Trying to pin me against the wall,
And asked me to my decision stall.
I’m glad, I did not fall;
Remained firm and stood tall
To listen only to the higher call!

Very good. Sustaining a rhyme for 12 lines is a great effort.
