Loss and Gain

Loss and gain
are two sides of the same coin,
without loss there has never been any gain.

Every daybreak gifts us a new day,
a new sun, new flowers, bird’s new chirrups,
a new melody, new clouds in the blue sky,
and a new challenge to give an honest try;

new wisdom and new friends to meet,
but for a pessimist
one day less from his life…
though an optimist never fails to discover
a pearl even in an oyster’s grief!

Loss and gain
are two sides of the same coin,
doesn’t a setting sun
through the dark night carries its glow
to present us a crimson dawn?
