Is It Not True?

The hunt is up and goes all day
Quest of greed keeps it at bay
Animus soul in quenched flesh
In myth and fear of a single life

Self-centered beings, social to the self
Compulsive obsession of me and mine
Disease of recognition grows with time
Causes suffering, treating self as prime

Does all things beyond a dream
Futile fantasies, animated verity
Good or bad, process continues
Till the soul flees, body accrues

Comment A beautiful depiction of the unmitigated obsession with the 'self.' The poem is replete with expressive phrases.
