Your True Colours

Tonight I have been looking at images of you
and I have found the essence to keep my heart's faith.

It's the red and the blue, oh the blue of my love!
The deepest, most serene, most beloved of blues
set beneath your crown of sun dazzling red,
such passion, such fire, such intense blazing joy!

Nowhere will I see these purest of colours
except in the God-given gift of your face.
These are your essence, your noble graces;
these I'll hold close until my end of days.

Comment Very kind words rdashby. Thank you.

When my darling died I sincerely expected to follow her shortly. It has now been eight months and I cry every day but I am still alive. I believe at some point she will show me my purpose for remaining behind.

Comment Sometimes people ask what defines a poem. Your poem would be the simple answer. Beautiful photo too.
