Sunrise on the black sand beach
at Kalapana,
Life is peaceful and undisturbed
Except for the soft swaying
Of the coconut palms.
Air pungent with sweet plumeria,
The rhythm of the surf
Like Pahinui's Ki ho Alu
Stirs the music in my Soul.
The sun makes his royal entrance
Surrounded by his retinue,
The full spectrum Alii nui
Caped in a mantle of
Purple red orange blue green yellow clouds,
Adrift in a sea of Color.
Aloha Oe!
