Two stars set upon an infinite sky,
Travelling through vast miles
And immeasurable time
Met and drawn together
By each other’s need,
Became a binary system.

From their union brought forth
A child planet,
Conceived from love,
Bathed in love,
Fashioned out of love.

This improbable progeny,
This product of happy happenstance,
Grew bright and clear
In the dark firmament
And nurtured a sea of joy.

This wonderful, lonely planet,
This new world,
Has now been left motherless;
Its cosmic purpose:
To continue on,
Navigating through the blackness,
Recalling its origin
And testifying to the heavens
The cause of its genesis
And the truth of its parents’ love.
