A Distance

To let you be on your feet, my child…

You were not pushed away
But I planted on earth
My cloven heart.
Your innocent eyes were in dismay,
May soon find the worth
Of a new start.

Though I wonder,

How did I expect
You to accept
So early such a distance!
When I myself
Do not find a salve
For the void of your absence.

Note: Sending him to a boarding school was not easy………. I fought against myself in many ways. Both of us are surely now trying to overcome the void created by the distance.
