If only I could prove my love today
how the flames of my passion would
twist around your heart
and melt the doubt hiding there.
Never would you question my devotion
as you did on the night
I remember so well
in the small hotel room
with no heat
where I was momentarily blinded
by snow covered peaks
dust from the city
too much wine
the succulence of your kisses
and the fear of separation.
