When He Moves Out

  (In memory of a pet)

    On its cupboard
     a woman
     pushes her pet

    Life's rod in rainy days.

    Light flashes
    from the other direction
    as her kisses inaugurate
His journey to some evolved form

    Move on little friend
    just pause and feel
    you're cradled still

   Faith makes her strong
   there begins the wait
   to greet him back
   in form renewed

    With lessons learned
    her bosom prepares
    to serve again

    Somewhere
    We also count days

    as she says,
    road to evolution.
