Songs have hushed in the branches
the sky - tarnished silver - looks dreary,
the atmosphere is depressingly hoary.

The spirits of the hills are up and about.
Mist-rain, rain-mist... an endless chain
Now green, now grey, then green again

Joy to gloom to joy – back and forth...
Life’s drama too is a fleeting show
assures the firmament’s eerie glow
