On a day
when I heard so many horror stories
of women raped
and burned
and killed
(are not all those perpetrators Taliban too!)
The news and clippings of Malala
addressing the United Nations
in the presence of such large numbers
of international dignitaries,
I said to myself,
this sixteen year old deserves
Nobel prize for peace!
The courage of conviction
moved me.
She is an international leader already,
I thought;
and she has truly understood Islam.
Little big Malala,
I am aleady your fan!
And the United Nations,
by this one act of declaring 12th July
as Malala Day,
you have taken a giant leap forward.
How I wish,
the whole of Africa gets inspired;
and all Islamists tell everybody,
Islam means peace;
and Islam and terrorism
are contra,
to say the least.
Darling Malala,
take my salute.
At sixteen, you are already one of my heroes.
And thank you,
for inspiring me,
and rekindling my faith
in mankind.
