  An idea in your mind
So long he was in your songs
He has now come to your life
Assuming a beautiful form.
He is the embodiment of divine joy
Like a triumphant hero
Crossing many hurdles
Removing all fears
Coming to your gates
He has announced
‘Here is your guest’.

Welcome him with light
As present
Offer him your entire being.
He is a denizen of heaven
He has come down to earth
Playing a heavenly flute
On the earthly dust
He is spraying the pollens
Of heavenly flowers.
He has come to enrich
Your mundane mortal home
With heavenly gifts
Like the rays of the sun
He has brought divine love
As blessings from the gods.

Transcreation of the poem Parinoy from the collection Parishesh by Rabindranath Tagore. It was composed on 25th Baisakh, 1338 BS, on the occasion of the marriage ceremony of Surendranath Kar who dedicated his entire life to the service of Santiniketan.
