Home Maker or Robot?

Tuned by internal alarm!
Awoke at four with smile calm!!
Turned out breakfast for first shift!
With no time to enjoy morning mist!!
Took husband’s bad mood in stride!
Next tackled kids’ temper tantrum wild!!
Dropped the children in school!
Drove to the market, be the weather hot or cool!!
Cooked lunch hurriedly!
For family waiting hungrily!!
Husband in office, kids in school!
But never lost her cool!!
Evening returned kids and husband with stories plenty!
The Robot (wife) was with her energy empty!!
But heard them all patiently!
Taught kids, fed family diligently!!

The day is over!
But for her never!!
There is always a change in her husband’s shift!
But never can she hope for a drift!
First, second, night!
Three shifts her birthright!!

A reality so well portrayed in verses excellently rhymed! Women have no retirement age when it comes to household chores...Thanks for sharing this thought provoking poem Sujatha.
