Life Flows On...

If I dig up a channel
from the hilltop to the sea,
and you do not rain love
will that ever be a river?
From east to west, and north to south,
if I brush up the sky
and you do not dawn,
will there ever be a day?
If I prison all my thoughts
and keep my mind free,
but if you do not flow into it
shall not my heart ever remain dry?
If I raise a garden
and water the plants every day,
but if you do not coyly blossom,
will it not be a mere meadow of hay?
There shall never be music
without your sweet melody;
life shall be a far cry,
if you do not ignite your flame in this earthly body! |
