I glimpse the magnificent ship
On the serene sea
Cruising on dark fluids
As the lightning strikes

I move closer to the view
To commend mounting ripples
Moving sinuously on the surface
As the wind hisses

I hear the waters groan
As they bear their freight
Heaving at their destiny
As the wave chokes

I see the majestic vessel
With its imperial crown
Peaking beyond the horizon
As the glory pales

I wince at the splendour
With its collected facade
In trying to conceal anxiety
As the disease spreads

I shudder at the misfortune
Of a beauty so divine
Carrying an inglorious shipment
As the virus multiplies

I shiver at the predicament
Of the ill-fated crew
Clasping the anticipation of cure
As the hope infects

I applaud their sanguinity
As they endure the ordeal
Suffering the formidable plight
As the land surfaces

I marvel at the twist of fate
As they clamber the shores
Trusting remedy is in the yonder
As the fortitude triumphs
