Theme: Limerick

Paddy, the Incurable Shirker

Often, when my brain refuses to work,
And I find ennui and lethargy on the lurk,
I tell myself this is the time best
To give my creativity some rest,
And I put off all writing work, as a perk :-)

Comment Thanks for liking this one, Nairji. My poems are not necessarily the exact reflection of my mind...I often write in first person as I find it fun to have a joke on myself that brings on a smile on others' faces :-)

Comment And you called it writer's block
And wrote a poem some time back

Enjoy the perk, Padmaja-ji and come back on the wings of poesy with renewed vigour.

Comment Hi Kulbir - I liked the "once again?" bit...:-) At least, I can draw consolation that this one's a from-time-to-time phenomenon, though personally I think, it happens all the time with me :-) Thanks for that lovely poetic response.

Comment Padmaja,

So you're shirking
From working
Once again -
Resting your brain?

Comment Thanks for liking this one, Mohini. Do also read my poem 'Contrition' which is on a different theme - due to delayed publishing it is somewhere at the bottom in the alphabeticallly appearing poems.
